Your mate to never get lost in Dubai’s malls

If you have ever been in Dubai you know well how big our malls can be. Jaideep Dhanoa and his team created back in November MallMate a mobile app that help you to not get lost among the multiple malls and shops you can find here. The app is available both on iOS and android. It all started for cities in UAE but the app extended to other cities as Singapore, Hong Kong or New Delhi and more will come. IBM Design Studio open in Dubai

His Excellency Abdulla Abdul Rahman Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai inaugurated the new IBM studio this week. This studio will serve as a hub for IBM Design in the Middle East for all different kind of industries as healthcare, telecommunication or retail. Located in the Dubai District Design the studio will join the other 20 IBM Studios located all around the world. More about it here.


Prime Minister of Happiness is a woman!

Last week we already told you UAE was making a Minister of Happiness. On Wednesday Sheikh Mohammed announced via his twitter account Ohood Al Roumi as Minister of State for Happiness. She is currently serving as the director-general of the prime minister’s office and will keep the position. The United Nations Foundation selected Al Roumi to be a member of its Global Entrepreneurship Council. Last year Switzerland was named world’s happiest country.


Why UAE consumers are spending less

Is recession hitting UAE and Dubai? It seems Emiratis are spending less money due to their concern on where the country economy is heading. The firm Nielsen polled UAE residents and the results show they will spend less money on clothes or recreations.
